Basic Training Bootcamp

Picture
Nearly 1 in 3 young adults is too fat for military service according to Major General Allen Batschelet, Commander, U.S. Army Recruiting. “Young people are showing up at our doors increasingly unfit or obese and it’s a real problem...Obesity is becoming a national security issue."

Are we too ‘Unfit to Fight’? One local Veteran and Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer says NO! And he is willing to donate his time coaching and training the Future Soldiers who need help meeting entry level height/weight and fitness requirements.

Coach Kevin Trumpfeller, a Combat Veteran and former US Army Master Fitness Trainer is conducting Basic Training Bootcamps for new recruits or those wishing to enlist in any branch or service who need help improving their fitness level. The boot camps are geared toward improving the task specific skills necessary to meet or exceed entry level Physical Fitness Tests. Including Pushups, Situps, the 1.5 or 2 mile run and pull ups (for Future Marines).

“My Mission is to provide every young recruit an opportunity to overcome body weight or fitness obstacles to military service” Coach Trumpfeller explained. “I am willing to coach, train and mentor any Future Soldier who is willing to change, and willing to put forth the necessary effort to succeed.”

The program is open to 17-24 year olds with first priority to those “Future Soldiers” referred by their service Recruiters. New Recruits over 24 or individuals who may be training for OCS attendance will be accepted on a “space available” basis. Contact Coach Kevin for availability.

The first 30 days of Basic Training Bootcamp are FREE. There is a $100/month charge for attendance past the initial 30 days. Coach Kevin is attempting to find local sponsors to help defray costs for those recruits who cannot afford extended training and coaching. If you would like to sponsor a Future Soldier, contact him at the links below.

Training is conducted three times per week M-W-F or Tu-Th-S. The last training day of each week will include a practice physical fitness test (PFT) to gauge each Future Soldier’s progress. Nutrition Coaching will be provided on an “as needed” basis.

There IS a uniform requirement. Just a taste of indoctrination and a small sample of what to expect in “real” basic training. But according to Coach Kevin, “More importantly, I need to tell at a glance which service PFT each recruit is training for.” All Future Soldiers will be required to wear BLACK shorts, WHITE socks, RUNNING SHOES and military branch specific colored t-shirts. Future Marines will wear RED, Future (Army) Soldiers will wear BLACK, Future Sailors, WHITE and Future Airmen, BLUE. Coach Kevin is also recruiting sponsors for uniforms and T-shirts. Contact him at the links provided for Sponsorship Opportunities.

Sessions are one hour long and start daily at 0600 hours at the West Las Vegas training location near W. Sahara and Cimarron.
